Mark founded Shipping Strategy in 2018 after more than two decades in the maritime industry, working for investors, brokers, insurers, shipowners and banks. Mark was Managing Partner, Affinity Research LLP from 2015-18; Group Head of Research and Business Development Director, Braemar Shipping Services Plc 2010-2015; Director of Consultancy, MSI 2009-2010; Divisional Director, HSBC Shipping Services 2002-2009 and Head of Operational Research, MRC Business Information Group 1996-2002.
MARCUS WALCZAK
Business Development Consultant
Marcus has 27 years' experience in shipping and marine fuels research and analysis as well as being a serial entrepreneur investing in and working in successful research companies. With an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Aberdeen and a Masters in Economic History from the University of Oxford, Marcus adds academic chops to his commercial savvy. His first rate global network of contacts underpins his business development activity.
MAURO CATTANA
Sales & Marketing Director
After a beginning in the technology sector Mauro developed a strong interest in the service and information sector. He lived in Asia for 20 years before moving back to Europe building a precious experience in the area by developing commercial cooperations and partnerships in the multicultural Asian continent from Pakistan to Australia as well as from South East Asia to Japan. - Mauro has a Post Grad Specialization in International Business Law from the University of London and followed a course in Security Management at the American Military University.
NIGEL CLARK
Non-Executive Chairman
Nigel is our Non-Exec Chairman and brings to SSL over 30 years senior management and board level experience in the shipping and offshore consultancy sectors. Amongst other roles he was previously Managing Director of Braemar Salvage Association, Strategic Director for the Braemar Technical Services Division, and Group Finance Director of a private equity backed global shipping and offshore engineering consultancy. Nigel is also currently Chairman of Solis Marine Consultants.
